About Us

Severance is an experienced endgame Australian PvP & Raiding Guild that resides on the Bloodspire server of Age of Conan. Founded in February 2008 - and growing ever since - as a pre-release Oceanic guild, we are now the proud home of over 40 active, mature, skilled and close-knit players making a name for themselves on Bloodspire. The leadership has had plentiful experience in managing other successful guilds in multiple MMORPGs, and we have high hopes and goals for the future of Severance.

We are currently raiding on weekdays at 6pm (GMT+10), and have so far successfully conquered Kylikki and Vistrix. Severance is now rearing to progress into Tier 2 raiding, but we're looking to expand our ranks with more experienced players of a diverse set of classes so that we may achieve our goals.

However, we are not all about PvE. While we don't currently own a Battlekeep, we're extremely close to it. The guild is collaborating our efforts on getting our Tier 3 Keep up, and from there, there's no limit. Apart from Sieging (which we're all extremely eager to do), our members are also rewarded Karma (DKP) for winning PvP minigames in a guild team.

Severance is a guild that enjoys all aspects of the game - if you want to siege, experience endgame raid content and simply have fun, Severance is the guild for you.

Endgame Raiding

Currently raiding weekdays 6pm onwards, Severance is proud to be a guild that successfully raids the Tier 1 bosses (Vistrix & Kyllikki) weekly - and without having to combine forces with allied guilds. We are now progressing into Tier 2 content in the Black Ring Citadel, and are welcoming new additions to our ranks to come along for the ride.

Our loot is distributed using a DKP Fixed Price system. Raiders accumulate DKP (per hour, turning up on time, boss kills, one-shots, first downs, etc.), and then they spend set amounts of that DKP to purchase looting rights for their class' epic loot.

Severance is well-known as one of the most professional endgame raiding guilds on Bloodspire, and with an experienced raid force and a professional loot distribution system, we will have no troubles maintaining that high image into the forseeable future.

Attitudes & Philosophies

Severance is a guild based on friendship and loyalty, but most of all, fun. We want to ensure that each of our members will consistently be showing their maturity, their skill, their dedication, and their comradery. We're a guild that holds the simple concept 'Quality over quantity' at heart.

We expect our members to be supporting the guild economically by means such as purchasing equipment and items from fellow guild members when possible, or by recycling items through the guild by handing items you don't need down to lower level players, just as examples.

Successful applicants aren't determined by age, but maturity. Foul language is allowed on our forums, guild chat and Ventrilo server, but you will be asked to tone it down if used too frequently. But swearing while representing yourself and the guild to the public is discouraged.

If conflict arises between you and a fellow member over a median that's viewable by the guild, you will be asked by an officer to sort it out yourselves in a place that isn't visible to the rest of us. Long-lasting conflict between members that eventually results in multiple inconveniences for the guild will simply not be tolerated. If it reaches that point, each member involved will be asked to get over it and sort it out, or start looking for a new guild.

Severance plans to continue to expand its ranks to be able to Siege and continue to raid without attendance being a problem.

You'll find that in Severance, rather than being a face in the crowd whose voice is drowned out, you will feel like an appreciated friend who has their own unique contribution to the guild, and whose ideas and opinion actually counts. That's the sort of guild that the leadership aims to create.

Guild Structure

Severance's council comprises of one guild leader (Xaijun), and three officers (Animation, Reportus and Rookskie). Ingame, the guild council handles and manages most aspects of the guild - recruitment, raids & events, PvP, etc.

The council discusses and decides on matters relating to the guild, and in most situations members will also be given an opportunity to express their opinions and have a say on changes and decisions. The council and I strive to ensure that in the close-knit community of Severance, everyone's voice is heard.

Thanks, I hope you choose the right guild for your endeavours in Hyboria.
